Football History

The tournament started back in 1999, we had the idea during an Oracle Consulting meeting to organize a small tournament - countries who have been invited to the first tournament were Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Italy - we played in Mondsee which is next to Salzburg and quite in the middle from Vienna, Milano, Zurich and Munich. With the spirit of the first tournament we had the idea to continue and create an EMEA Oracle Tournament to meet with colleagues from Oracle outside of business, play soccer and have fun - a big networking event and of course to work on the‚One Team‘ approach. We started with 4 countries and ended up having a tournament with 18 expected countries in Lyon this year.
